This week you will complete a comprehensive biopsychosocial diagnostic note about a well-known serial killer, Jeffrey Dahmer. Ensure the work is in a social work perspective. Assignment Overview
For each case study assignment you will watch a film or research a person and then, using a comprehensive biopsychosocial approach, write up case notes. The full case note is to be no more than 3 pages, double spaced, Times New Roman, 12 point font. You must cover each of the following components in your case notes:
- Synopsis:
- Demographic information
- Summary of presenting symptoms
- Biopsychosocial assessment:
- Explore any history from childhood to present that impacts diagnosis (If known)
- Relationship status, sexual orientation, and gender identity issues (if known)
- Educational level and intellectual abilities
- Cultural factors (language, religion, etc.)
- Prior mental health diagnoses or experiences
- Health status
- Strengths
- DSM 5 Diagnosis:
- State the diagnosis along with any specifiers, provisional, or rule out diagnosis
- State how all of the diagnostic criteria were met
- Statement of which conditions were considered and ruled out during assessment process
- Treatment:
- Strategies for empowerment, social work perspective.
- Evidenced based treatment recommendation (include citations linking research to recommended treatment options)
