Completing Your Assignment
For the first assessment for this module, you are required to record a 5-minute business idea pitch as a video recorded on Panopto. Remember to identify yourself CLEARLY at the beginning of the video, include your student ID. Mention the name of the idea/ business also in one sentence.
Panopto: Panopto is a video platform used in the education sector. With the option of lecture capture, Panopto can record video presentations that can be viewed in its entirety or by sections / slides. This is one of the most popular platforms used for online / recorded lecture sessions. Students can access their individual Panopto Account via Moodle. They will submit their video presentation by uploading / recording their video on Panopto.
Your video should:
• Provide an overview of your business start-up idea, product, or service with the reasons for your decision. Clearly identify the target market, main strengths, and weaknesses and an overview of how you see the business operating.
• Include a SWOT analysis that demonstrates a clear understanding of the business’s strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats and provide a realistic projection of where you envisage the business being after the first year.
• Entice potential investors, so your aim is to provide a brief overview in a creative way that will generate interest in your potential business idea.
• Present your business proposal via a video.
Your video should demonstrate:
• A good understanding of the basics of what will be needed in the business plan. Show clarity of purpose. What is the idea, what market will it target, why you believe it’s a good idea, explain how you envision the company operating, what do you believe are the main strengths and weaknesses?
• A SWOT analysis to critically analyse the viability (feasibility) of your own business idea, product or service highlighting its main strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats, with an idea of a realistic outcome for the business after the first year.
• The feasibility of your business proposal in a creative and effective way that will appeal to a variety of audiences.
In addition, you will also be graded for:
• Quality and creativity of presentation
• Content flow
• Materials used in your presentation
• Time management
