1.0 Client Brief

North Lincolnshire County Council (NLCC) is seeking to develop a coherent and deliverable transport package for he Scunthorpe train station area(see Zone 4-Preference Project). NLCC is soliciting help to design the project to:

  1. improve traffic flow around the train station. Specifically, the Station Road/ Church Lane intersection with Oswalds Road
  2. Provide access for proposed future developments of commercial and residential properties
  3. Prepare design proposal for the elevation of the Oswald Road approach to Station Road/Church Lane intersection (see Figure 4-Reference Project) joining Howdens Hill dual carriage road involving the following:
  4. Design and Replacement of bridge spanning over the Scunthorpe station Rail line linking to Ashby Road
  5. Design of new approaches to integrate overpass
  6. Present an overview with reference to project site of:
  7. rock types, their formation and uses in civil engineering and building projects
  8. cogent description and classification of soils using current codes of practice
  9. The proposal should cover the following:
  10. Geotechnical weaknesses and issues the given site
  11. Design proposals to address geotechnical problems with justification
  12. Prepare presentation of design proposal for technical team
