    Assessment 2 – Emerging Technologies
In this assessment, students will explore and critically analyse emerging technologies that are transforming various industries and society. The objective is to deepen students’ understanding of these technologies by conducting a comparative case study analysis. The focus will be on their
implementation, associated challenges, impacts, and prospects. This group assignment aims to enhance students’ critical thinking, research capabilities, and ability to present complex information in a clear and cohesive manner.
Assessment 2(a): Case Study Comparative Analysis Report
The report should compare and analyse two or more emerging technologies, discussing their real-world applications and implications. It should cover both current trends and potential future developments in the selected technologies, with proper referencing and citation of all resources used in their research.
Additionally, students must develop a prototype design demonstrating their chosen technology’s potential application. This may include:
    · Conceptual Diagrams: Visual representation of the technology’s architecture and
    functionality.
    · Mock-ups or Wireframes: User interface designs for software-based technologies.
    · Simulations or Models: Demonstrations using available simulation tools or software.
    · Hardware Prototypes: 3D-printed models, loT device configurations, or robotics concepts.
The prototype should provide a practical demonstration of how the selected technology can be
implemented and should be accompanied by an explanatory document detailing its components,
    functionality, and feasibility.
    Potential Emerging Technologies for Analysis
Students can select from the following emerging technologies, but are not limited to:
    · Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML)
    · Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR), and Mixed Reality (MR)
    · Internet of Things (loT) and Industrial loT (IloT)
    · 5G & 6G Networks
    ·
    Blockchain and Decentralised Technologies
    · Robotics and Autonomous Systems
    · 3D Printing and Additive Manufacturing
    · Big Data and Data Analytics
    · Cloud Computing and Edge Computing
    ·
    Quantum Computing
Cybersecurity in the Era of Al
    ·
    Autonomous Vehicles and Drones
    · Biotechnology, Bioinformatics, and Synthetic Biology
    · Nanotechnology and Advanced Materials
    · Digital Twins and Simulation Technologies
    · Immersive Technologies and Spatial Computing
    · Human Augmentation and Brain-Computer Interfaces (BCIs)
    · Sustainable and Green Technologies
Students are encouraged to research and include other emerging technologies that they find
relevant to their chosen case studies.
Instructions for Assessment 2(a): Case Study Comparative Analysis & Prototype Design
