Assessment Task Description

Your group will deliver a digital debate presentation on a current ethical or strategic issue related to information systems (IS).

  • real-world IS concepts
  • ethical frameworks
  • sustainability principles
  • responsible use of Generative AI (GenAI)

A slide titled “Group AI Discussion” must be included to explain how your team used GenAI tools ethically during preparation.

Context

Modern organisations face complex IS-related ethical and strategic challenges such as:

  • AI-driven decision making
  • data privacy
  • workforce automation
  • digital sustainability

This assessment requires students to evaluate these real-world dilemmas using structured debate, ethical reasoning, and IS concepts.
You will collaborate as a team to prepare, plan, and deliver a persuasive, well-supported digital presentation that reflects real professional environments.

  2. Employee displacement due to automation is unavoidable and acceptable in digital transformation.
  3. Smart technology in industry promotes more sustainability hype than real impact.
  4. Digital loyalty programs undermine sustainability by encouraging increased consumption.
  5. GenAI should be used in customer service roles even if it replaces human interactions.
