Review the various responsibilities of a project manager by organizing a project. See Chapter 19, sections 19.9 and Cases. The project will be a continuation of how to improve the process you chose in Competency 1.
Apply project management tools and a project management outline type of your choice to structure and plan the project by defining, planning, and controlling.
Create a 10- to 12-slide PowerPoint presentation (supported by Excel and Word as needed), with detailed speaker notes, that includes the following:
• Project description
• Project Management Charts (Critical Path, Gantt Chart, etc.)
• Meeting cadence/rhythm and timing
• Metrics to measure the project’s success
• Financial and budgetary considerations
• Description of the project reporting structure

When considering our second Competency, we want to explain to our project team – among other things — what will happen and when it’ll happen. Not everyone may be familiar with this powerful project management chart.

Hello All,
Our second Competency concerns a project. A project either introduces or changes a process. Consider yourself to be the project team leader. What steps are to be taken during the project to make the desired change in the process? How will the team know what to do and when to do it? What considerations and limitations does the team face? Keep the focus of your project relatively narrow and follow the
assignment rubric.
When we consider project metrics please note that there are implementation metrics as well as the resultant metric. Over the years my bosses were initially concerned with two implementation metrics and would ask (In one fashion or another!) “Is the project on time and within budget?” Implementation metrics are necessary in this assignment.
