Task 1: Self-assessment.(50 marks; 1000 words)
Analysis and evaluation of a range of soft and digital skills, knowledge and competencies required for a chosen career goal within the modern and digitalised workplace.
Recommendations on how you could develop the Report:
- Briefly discuss, with the appropriate underpinning, how recent changes driven byIndustry 4.0 (digitalisation, business automation etc.) impacted a chosen sector that you are interested in pursuing career within.
Here you should apply the framework ofIndustry 4.0focusing on the impact it have made on specific sector/ companies, their products and servicesInnovation diffusion(how innovation diffuses amongst the companies operating in the competitive sector)
- Thenidentify a range of soft and digital skills required by that sector for yourchosen career goalwithin the modern and digitalised workplace. This section needs to be underpinned by academic and business research to support your arguments.
- Finallyself-assess yourself against those skills, identify and discuss theareas of weaknesses and skill-gaps based on the results from your self-assessments. You need to evidence a range of self-assessments undertaken;these should be presented with the Appendices. You are required to engage with 3 self-assessment tools:
- Appendix1: Personal SWOT analysis,
- Appendix 2: Skills diagnostics,
- Appendix 3: An online self-test of your choice.
Additional points:
- Any information you present should evidence your reading and research. Nothing should be your personal opinion; all sections must be cited.
- Underpin your arguments with reputable sources, academic literature and real-world examples.
- All references should be constructed using the Harvard referencing system.

Task 2: PDP(50 marks; 1000 words)
Design and deliver a Professional Development Plan (PDP) related to the career goal identified within Task One and a range of well explained developmental and SMART objectives.
To design an effective paper, follow the instruction below:
- Present a detailedProfessional Development Plan (PDP)in a tabular format, as per the suggested template,related to the career goalyou previously identified, that aimsat developing your weaknesses and current skill -gapswithin digital and soft skills areas.
- PDP needs to be presented in a tabular format and with use of SMART framework, explain how you are planning to develop in the areas of3 soft and 2 digital skillsin which you are currently underperforming (based on your self-assessment outcomes).
- Note that PDP table is expected to be part of Task 2 wordcount.
- This task needs to be underpinned by academic and business research to support your arguments.
Additional points:
- Underpin your arguments with academic literature.
- Cite your sources and ensure that discussion about skills relevant and required by the sector/ role is well supported.
- All in text citations and references should be constructed using the Harvard referencing system.
- Missing PDP will contribute to a failure of this task.
