Overview
In this activity, you describe the application that you plan to design for the course project. Remember, your ultimate goal is to design an HCI that emphasizes usability and functionality more than technical specifications such as data transfer, communication protocols, coding languages, et cetera.
Preparation
Consider the following questions as you plan your application GUI.
- What does it do?
- Who would use it?
- Are you developing this for a client or yourself?
- What devices and OS would it use?
- Are there other similar products that you can learn from?
Instructions
Write a 1–page summary that describes the following aspects of your proposed application:
- Purpose(s) and need – Why does the application exist?
- Goals – Concrete, measurable outcomes.
- Interface – What type and what device(s) will run it?
- Stakeholders – Owner(s), designer(s), users, support personnel, et cetera.
- Existing similar products or solutions.
