Project 1: Eating Around the Globe
Choose a location around the globe to research the nutrition guidelines, culture surrounding food
choices, eating times, habits, behaviors, experiences etc.
• Food based dietary guidelines around the globe
Do a write up answering the 6 questions and feel free to share anything else about your chosen country.
Make a slide presentation at least 10 slides.
You can use research articles, websites, books, videos, podcasts etc. to answer the following questions.
Please cite your work in any format you would like. (Can be a list at the end of the questions, does not
have to be within the paragraphs).
Answer the following questions:
1. What location did you choose and why?
2. Could you find their nutrition guidelines? If so, who created the guidelines?
3. During your research what did you learn about eating/cultural norms, sustainability, food
manufacturing for your chosen location? Describe their nutrition practices and guidelines.
4. How does the eating culture and guidelines of your location differ from the guldelines and
norms for the US or in TN?
5. Do you think nutrition and health is a priority for your chosen location?
6. Do you think any of the nutrition guidelines or practices from your location be implemented
here and how do you imagine that could be done if so?
