Comprehensive Policy Analysis Report and Presentation
Students will demonstrate their ability to synthesize concepts, critically appraise evidence, and effectively communicate their findings. This summative assessment combines a detailed written analysis and a professional recorded presentation to evaluate healthcare policy’s impact on clinical practice and research priorities. Combining the written report with a recorded presentation ensures students can critically analyze policies and communicate findings effectively, which are key skills for nurse leaders addressing complex healthcare challenges and advocating for systemic improvements.

Select a Policy:
Choose a healthcare policy with a significant impact on clinical practice and research priorities. The policy can be local, national, or organizational in scope. Recorded Video Presentation:
Create a 5–7minute video presentation that provides an overview of the selected policy and its significance. Include: A clear explanation of the policy’s purpose, goals, and scope. How the policy connects practice, research, and policy development. A summary of the policy’s impact on clinical workflows and research priorities. Challenges or unintended consequences, with a brief discussion of potential solutions. Use a visual aid, such as a PowerPoint or infographic, to enhance the video presentation. Develop a Comprehensive Report:
Address the following components: Introduction: Provide a brief overview of the selected policy, including its purpose and context. Practice-Research-Policy Interface: Analyze how the policy illustrates the relationship between clinical practice, research, and policy development. Evidence-Based Practices: Critically appraise the research and evidence that supported the policy’s creation or refinement. Discuss the validity, reliability, and applicability of this evidence. Impact on Practice: Evaluate how the policy has influenced clinical workflows, protocols, and patient outcomes. Impact on Research: Discuss how the policy has shaped research priorities, funding, or study designs. Unintended Consequences: Identify challenges or unintended consequences of the policy and propose potential solutions. Recommendations: Provide actionable recommendations for refining or advancing the policy based on evidence and practice insights. Report Submission Guidelines:
The report should be 5 pages, double-spaced, using APA format. Include at least three peer-reviewed sources to support the analysis. Document Type/Template & Rubric Word document and a recorded video presentation using the platform of your choice.
