    Last week, you developed the beginning framework for your thematic unit by completing the ECE Learning Activities Brainstorm. In that assignment, you used your state’s learning standards to locate a standard for different developmental areas. This was an important first step in creating a developmentally appropriate thematic unit that you will have fully developed by the end of this course. This week, you will take five of the standards you identified last week and develop them into stimulating learning activities.

    Watch Encouraging Physical Activity in Preschoolers
    Watch Practical Strategies for Teaching Social Emotional Skills
    Review the Using Learning Standards Video in this week’s Learning Activity for guidance.
    Download the ECE Learning Activities template. You are required to use this template for your assignment. Only complete the Week 4 Learning Activities: Physical Development and Social Skills section. (The template is all you are required to submit. No additional paper is needed.).
    In your assignment, answer each area of the template to:
    Develop a learning activity for fine motor skills related to your theme.
    Develop a learning activity for gross motor skills related to your theme.
    Develop a learning activity for self-concept related to your theme.
    Develop a learning activity for emotional skills related to your theme.
    Develop a learning activity for social skills related to your theme.
    ECE Learning Activities: Physical Development and Social Skills,
    Must be three to four double-spaced pages in length (not including title and reference pages) and formatted according to APA Style as outlined in the Writing Center’s APA Formatting for Microsoft Word
    Must include a title page containing the following:
    Title of assignment
    Student’s name
    Name of institution (University of Arizona Global Campus)
    Course name and number
    Instructor’s name
    Due date
    Must utilize academic voice. See the Academic Voice resource for additional guidance.
    Must use at least two credible sources in addition to the course text.

If you have questions about whether a specific source is appropriate for this assignment, please contact your instructor. Your instructor has the final say about the appropriateness of a specific source for a particular assignment.

    Must document any information used from sources in APA Style as outlined in the Writing Center’s APA: Citing Within Your Paper
    Must include a separate references page that is formatted according to APA Style as outlined in the Writing Center. See the APA: Formatting Your References List resource in the Writing Center for specifications.
