I will start this week’s discussion by adding information from an article (e.g., article sharing) that is about civil liberties. We have the right to express our ideas in the U.S. and the government even protects hate speech. Here is an example of how governments can limit speech. When government becomes the arbiter of which speech can be limited, it defines what is not allowed. Remember, I mentioned earlier how Putin was able to create a law in Russia that no one was allowed to voice negative opinions about him. Think about how many officials, and Hollywood personalities, would like a similar law.
