Then decide on an angle or perspective that appeals to your sense of inquiry. Focus your research on ONE of these areas and define a succinct Research Question on one of the following topics:
- the indications that the entrepreneurs’ current Return on Sales of D4M holds for future growth and scaleability of the enterprise
- promotion strategies that would apply to the growth of this business
- people aspects of the business, in particular retention of staff, possible sales incentives (‘finder’s fee’), burnout, or loyalty matters
- the mentorship that can potentially be offered by the two chosen dragons
Compile a comprehensive Literature Review, using the following structure.
Structure
- Cover Page
- Clearly state which topic you will be focusing your research on (i.e. one of the dot points above, expressed as a Research Problem)
- Clearly state the Research Question (RQ)
- Present the facts from the video(s) that are relevant to the RQ
- Justify at least 6 additional sources of literature will be cited and why. Provide a list of references, showing clearly the url at which they can be accessed.
- Present a 150 to 200 word summary of each cited source.
- Apply the theoretical concepts emanating from your literature review (as in section 6) to make sense of the facts taken from the content of the video(s) (as in section 4), making certain to relate practice and theory.
- Conclude by evaluating the research you have done and clearly stating the extent to which it has addressed your RQ (as stated in section 3)
- Add a reference list, in Holmes compliant format
- Add an Appendix stating which section (1-9) was undertaken by each member of the team.
- Total word count for sections 2 to 8 inclusive should be 2500 to 3000 words
Citation and Referencing Rules
Holmes has implemented a revised Harvard approach to referencing. The following rules apply:
1. Reference sources in assignments are limited to sources that provide full-text access
for lecturers and markers.
2. In-text Citations
All assignments must include in-text citations to the listed references. These must include
the surname of the author/s or name of the authoring body, year of publication, page
number of the content, and paragraph where the content can be found. For example, “The
company decided to implement an enterprise-wide data warehouse business intelligence
strategy (Hawking et al., 2004, p3(4)).”

3. Reference List
The reference list must be located on the last page of your submission
The reference list must include the details of all the in-text citations, arranged A-Z
alphabetically by author surname with each reference numbered (1 to 10, etc.) and each
reference MUST include a hyperlink to the full text of the cited reference url.
For example:
7. Hawking, P., McCarthy, B. & Stein, A. 2004. Second Wave ERP Education, Journal of
Information Systems Education, Vol … Issue No. … ,pages … to …
http://jise.org/Volume15/n3/JISEv15n3p327.pdf
4. Non-Adherence to Referencing Rules
If students do not follow the above rules, penalties apply:
1. For students who submit assignments that do not comply with all aspects of the rules, a 10% penalty will be applied.
2. If citations are ‘fake’, students will be reported for academic misconduct.
