Write an Absolute Value Inequality and Solve

Write an Absolute Value Inequality and Solve
As part of your learning experience, active participation in discussions is essential. An important part of the final grade will be based on your participation. You will be evaluated on the quality and quantity of your participation in the discussion forum that corresponds to the grading rubric.
The initial post and responses should be in your own words and demonstrate critical thinking, analysis, and expected level of knowledge. Initial posts and replies should be in complete sentences and in paragraph form. You should not have bullet points as they are not in complete sentences or paragraph form. Copy-pasting may result in a zero.
To meet the minimum participation requirements, you will post relevant content 3 different days during the week. The first post is due by day four of the week by 11:59PM, Eastern Time. Once you make the initial post, you will see other people’s posts. You will post replies on at least two additional days by day seven of the week by 11:59PM, Eastern Time.
Instructions for the initial post:
Write an absolute value inequality for your peers to solve.
For example: 3+2 < 5 Without solving the inequality, predict whether or not the final answer in interval notation will require the U (union) symbol. Share your thoughts on why or why not the U symbol will be required. Also, offer a hint to your classmates to help them get started on solving your absolute value inequality.
Instructions for replies:
Reply 1: Solve someone else’s inequality and show all of your work.
For Example:
Step 1 –> Isolate the absolute value portion.
3+2 < 5 Step 2 –> Split into two problems.
3x+2<5 AND 3x+2>-5
Step 3 –> Solve!
x < 1 AND x >
3
(-1)
Reply 2: Test a value that would work in one of the posted inequalities and show that it is a true solution (it does not have to be the one that you solved).
For Example:
Step 1 –> Pick a value that would work! -7/3, so I will test 0.
Using the example above, I can see that x should be less than 1 and greater than
Step 2 –> Substitute the value into the inequality. IF x = 0, then… 3(0) + 2 < 5 125 2<5 Step 3- –> State what this means.
Since this inequality is true, this means that O is a true
solution for this inequality.
