    You are required to write a report (around 1200 to 1,500 words) using a case study approach describing the pathophysiology, specific biochemical profile characteristics observed that led to the provisional diagnosis, differential diagnoses and potential treatment options. You may also recommended further tests that will assist in confirming the diagnosis. Further details on the case, a template and an exemplar will be provided to you on the Moodle site to assist in preparation.

    Additional Tips

    1. The report should be written in scientific style. Use the correctterminology where appropriate.
    2. Avoid using ownership words or starting sentencing with I, we, me,they, you, e.g. dont write I think that.., then I and so on. Instead use statements such as, the results suggest..
    3. When you are finished, ask someone else to proofread your report and let you know if they understand what you have written. They may give you some suggestions about the clarity and spot some typos you have overlooked! Your practical report should clearly explain the clinical history and reason for testing, as well as, what tests you have performed, why you did those, the results that you obtained, and an explanation of their significance.
